The death of my mother, Frieda Mae Fry, reawakened
the idea of bringing a Fry history and genealogy into the
present twenty-first century; and I have been able to advance
from where he, and to a lesser extent myself, left off 30 years ago.
I have acquired more family histories, maps and plats; organized photos and documents; and
even found the historic Fry farm, purchased
by John Fry sometime between 1816 and 1826, in Suffield
Township, Portage County, Ohio (The farmhouse still survives,
although it has suffered somewhat from the ravages time).

In this, I have been greatly aided by a resource
unavailable to my father: the Internet. It has led me to
distant family members; to the work of other genealogists
in the United and Germany; and to historic books not easily
available in an earlier time.
